Key Outcomes - 19 February 2009

At its 19 February 2009 meeting the Victorian Skills Commission (VSC):

  • recognised the significant contributions made by Mr Peter Thomas, former Chair of the Commission, who recently passed away;
  • approved out of session a panel for the conduct of hearings under Part 5.5.17 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006;
  • noted a provider presentation on engaging enterprises in training;
  • noted progress on implementation of ITAB-related skills reform initiatives and endorsed an approach to funding ITABs for projects to stimulate training demand and an approach to the implementation of the Victorian Skills Pledge initiative;
  • noted definitions used for analysis of Victorian skill requirements;
  • noted a briefing on the VRQA State Register project; and
  • approved a revised VSC Audit and Risk Committee Charter and VSC governance framework.
