Key Outcomes - 4 December 2008
At its 4 December 2008 meeting the Victorian Skills Commission:
- received a presentation from Minister Jacinta Allan on the VSC’s role and membership following the release of the Securing Jobs for Your Future – Skills for Victoria policy
- agreed to meet late January 2009 to focus on the VSC 2009 work plan
- received a presentation on Skills Victoria’s implementation of the Securing Jobs for Your Future – Skills for Victoria policy
- noted an update on Commonwealth/State arrangements
- noted a proposal on its future relationship with LLENs, and agreed to considerthe proposal as input to 2009 business planning
- approved a VSC risk management framework and appointed Ms Rowena Allen as one of its two nominees on the VSC Audit and Risk Committee following the retirement of Mr Peter Thomas
- thanked Skills Victoria staff for their work in achieving success for Victoria at the Australian Training Awards.
At the end-of-year function following the VSC meeting, Minister Allan thanked the former VSC Chair, Mr Peter Thomas, for his contributions to the Victorian training system.
