Key Outcomes - 1 November 2007

At its 1 November 2007 meeting the Victorian Skills Commission (VSC):

  • approved the 2008 Vocational Education and Training (VET) Plan
  • noted the October Quarterly Report on the implementation of Recommendations of the VET Inquiry
  • noted the implementation and evaluation of the TAFE Way to Go Campaign
  • noted the development and application of a methodology to measure and monitor completion rates and employment outcomes for apprenticeships, pre-apprenticeships and traineeships
  • noted the operation of the Youth Guarantee in TAFE and approved Adult and Community Education (ACE) providers
  • noted the 2008 arrangements for the Apprenticeship Traineeship Training Program (ATTP) and the Priority Education and Training Program (PETP)
  • noted Local Learning Employment Networks (LLEN) progress against the 2007 Schedule 1 and the status of LLEN funding beyond 2008, and endorsed refocussing of Schedule 1 deliverables for 2008
  • noted outcomes of the Review of Specialist Centres and actions undertaken to progress the Review outcomes.
