Skilling Australia: future directions for VET
On 25 July, Victorian Skills Commissioner Neil Coulson joined Federal Assistant Minister Karen Andrews and Box Hill Institute’s Chief Executive Officer Norman Gray on a discussion panel as part of the CEDA event, Skilling Australia: future directions for VET.
The panel examined the Federal Government’s new commitments to vocational education and training, including the new $1.5 billion Skilling Australia Fund which aims to deliver an extra 300,000 apprentices in the next four years.
The panel also discussed the impact and capabilities in the VET sector to grow the number of apprentices in training and meet future workforce needs.
The event at Melbourne’s Grand Hyatt Hotel was praised as a “great and lively” discussion on important issues and developments in vocational education and training.
