NBAA networking breakfast
On 3 March, Victorian Skills Commissioner Neil Coulson addressed more than 100 business leaders at the Northern Business Achievement Awards networking breakfast in Preston.
During his presentation, ‘aligning training with industry needs’, Mr Coulson highlighted his work with industry to build real skills for real jobs under the Industry Engagement Framework and newly established Industry Advisory Groups.
He also outlined the government’s Skills First reforms to develop a more managed and focused training system as well as the Workforce Training Innovation Fund, providing $40 million to support industry and employers.
Local councillors, university leaders and prominent north-side business owners attended the event which was praised as a huge success.
