Master Builders Strategy Workshop
On 17 February, Victorian Skills Commissioner Neil Coulson delivered a presentation at the Master Builders Association of Victoria’s Strategy Workshop.
The presentation, ‘aligning training with industry needs’ highlighted his work with industry to build real skills for real jobs under the new Industry Engagement Framework.
He also outlined the gaps and opportunities the VET system needs to address including skills shortages, thin markets and pathways to employment outcomes.
Mr Coulson invited delegates to share their views on the future of apprenticeships and asked whether or not they saw existing VET qualifications as a clear pathway and prerequisite for employment in their company.
More than 50 delegates attended the event at Balgownie Estate in Yarra Glen.
