Minister for Training and Skills Gayle Tierney has nominated the Victorian Skills Commissioner (VSC) Neil Coulson as the Victorian representative for the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC). The Federal Government and the AISC Chair have accepted the nomination.
The AISC was established by the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Industry and Skills Council as the industry-led body providing advice on the implementation of national vocational education and training policies. The VSC met with the AISC on 23 February.
The VSC’s nomination ensures Victoria’s Industry Engagement Framework directly interfaces with the Federal Government’s administration of training products. As the Victorian AISC representative, the VSC will provide advice on matters related to the implementation of national training policy, quality assurance of training packages, the operation standards for training, VET sector research priorities and an industry perspective on the VET sector.
The Commissioner is looking forward to being a strong advocate for Victorian industry.
